From August to October, Gelupo will collaborate with seven of Soho’s finest restaurants to launch a menu of exclusive gelatos inspired by flavours around the world. Each chef involved in the unique initiative has developed and supplied Gelupo with a recipe, that showcases hero flavours and ingredients commonly found on their own menus.
Launching in August, this cultural journey will start off in the sweltering Southern Hemisphere with Neil Rankin from Temper designing his very own “helado” in the form of a Smokey Margarita sorbet. His flavour personifies South America and Latino flavours with Lime, Mezcal with a sprinkling of Habanero Salt. The second flavour form will take us to the Central Pacific all the way to the rugged volcanic island of Hawaii with Island Poké who made a sweet and fiery hit of Pineapple and Chilli.
With the hazy summer coming to an end, September will see Tomer Amedi from the Palomar bringing us a savory-sweet flavour explosion of traditional Tahini ice cream with lashings of date honey, toasted pistachios, and a rose petal kadaif. Tahini isn’t just for falafel! Travelling from Middle East to Europe, Blanchette's William Alexander brings us a bit of the “belle vie” with a delicious and seasonal combination of Strawberries and Beaujolais wine. The sweetness of the strawberries and depth of the wine flavour make for a really interesting juxtaposition.
Into October we travel over to Judy Joo from Jinjuu taking us to Korea with her own unique twist on a traditional drink - Matcha with a sweet red bean swirl and crunchy white chocolate covered crispies. Jeremy Lee from Quo Vadis comes forward with his take on the popular Italian liqueur and combines Campari with Grapefruit. This flavour embodies the ever popular Italian drink and makes for a perfect bitter-sweet hit for those October evenings as the days grow shorter. Completing our journey in October with a round trip back to South America, Martin Morales from Ceviche steps up and brings the favourite dessert of South America to London. His flavour combines the traditional savoury crunch of toasted Cancha and Salted Dulce De Leche ice cream.
Pop up Opportunities
We have run successful pop-up Gelupo bars across London, most recently at Estée Lauder’s HQ. We are now taking requests for the next season, so if you want to discuss an idea you have, just e-mail or call.
Our Gelato Cart
We supply corporate parties, weddings and commercial launches with our gelato, much of it served from our gelato cart. The very height of food fashion, she can be filled with up to 8 flavours of gelato and cater for indoor or outdoor events of any size, serving up to 300 people per hour. Our cart does travel too, and is at home on the beaches of Cornwall as it is in the streets of London.
